Jozien Bensing Research Award

Call for nominations

At the EACH conference in Basel (2006), The EACH Board announced the introduction of the Jozien Bensing Research Award for talented young researchers, to be awarded biennially at EACH conferences. The first Award will be presented at the Oslo conference in September, 2008.

The award consists of €2000 - and a memorial sculpture.

It is a pleasure to invite nominations for this award. The award is meant for researchers at a relatively early stage of their career: less than ten years of experience after PhD, MD, or similar qualifications. Nominations can be sent by candidates themselves or by senior colleagues with the candidates’ agreement.

Nominators should be members of EACH on August 1st 2008.

The nomination should consist of:

  • An updated cv of the nominee, including a list of publications
  • A copy of the favourite publication by the nominee (in the eyes of the nominee him/herself)
  • Two letters of recommendation by senior colleagues or others, which describe the accomplishments of the candidate and make clear why this nominee is particularly promising and talented in the field of health care communication research.

The jury consists of the acting EACH president, former presidents and the president-elect, as well as all former award-winners. For a start the jury will consist of:

  • Prof. Jozien M. Bensing, the Netherlands
  • Prof. Arnstein Finset, Norway
  • Prof. Wolf Langewitz, Switzerland
  • Prof. Peter Salmon, United Kingdom
