Oslo is situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord surrounded by forested ridges, and this very location gives the city qualities you may not expect from a capital. In addition to the historical and cultural tourist attractions a capital city has to offer, Oslo is an exciting city for leisure activities within the beautiful hills and coastline surrounding the city, most of them within easy reach by public transportation.

The main international airport Oslo Airport Gardermoen is located 45 km / 20 minutes north of Oslo with regular train and shuttle links to the city centre. The city also has excellent rail link into Oslo Central Station (often referred to as Oslo S) and it’sport facilities mean that it is also possible to arrive by ferry from mainland Europe.
